NBC will be coming out with a late-night poker show, a Las Vegas set series that will showcase top poker pros vying for the winner-take-all $120,000 first place prize.
"Poker After Dark" will bring viewers from Monday to Saturday in a world usually reserved for the high rollers in Vegas.
The new NBC show will be hosted by Shana Hiatt, best known for formerly hosting the World Poker Tour. Hiatt is also recognized by Maxim Magazine as one of the "Hot 100 of 2005".
"Poker After Dark" will debut on Jan 2 at 2:05 in the morning (ET). Every night, the show will concentrate on one table, leading up to the announcement of a winner every Friday night. Saturday will show the Director's cut, showing the week's highlights, with the winner and Hiatt offering commentary on the game. The Saturday show will air at 1 in the morning, following Saturday Night Live.
"There's a vibrant late-night audience looking for original programming," Marc Graboff, NBC Universal Television West Coast president said in a statement Wednesday. "We felt this inside look at the professional poker scene is perfect for late-night television and those viewers seeking a unique and original broadcast."
"Poker After Dark" is produced in cooperation of Poker Productions.
